International Association of Facilitators
The Certified Professional Facilitator designation (CPF) is granted by the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) after a competency based test.
There are several levels of certification available from IAF.
- IAF Endorsed™ Facilitator (ET)
- IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator (CPF)
- IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator | Master
- IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator | Emeritus
Some people apply to IAF to become a CPF without taking courses. This can work for those with lots of facilitation experience. Courses can help fill in some gaps.
The Group Facilitation Methods course provides a great backbone for all facilitation. The Meetings That Work course addresses a wide range of competencies. Facilitating Client Collaboration covers all the other required competencies. The Art & Science of Participation covers all other competencies beyond GFM and MTW and adds lots of practice and design.
