Privacy Policy

ICA Associates Inc. does not collect site visitor information in order to sell it to a third party. We do collect information to understand where visitors are coming from and which pages they look at and which actions are taken. This is basic information for digital marketing purposes and for spam protection purposes. When visitors fill in forms and interact with a chat tool, the information is captured directly into our simple customer relations database (HubSpot) so we can reply to the questions raised. When visitors pick a course to buy, the name and email address is sent to PayPal for payment (obviously) and captured in our CRM so we can add it to the Learning Management System (Canvas) where the course materials reside. Canvas has its own privacy policy that is also quite strict: they do not own the contact information provided by the course registrants -- it remains in the possession of ICAA for the sole purpose of communicating with the participants in the courses, for example sending reminders to complete an assignment. Credit card information given to PayPal is not shared with ICAA. All we get is a confirmation of payment notification from Paypal.

Cookies

Our website, like all websites, uses cookies to learn where you came from and where you go for digital marketing purposes. For example, we may run ads in Google AdWords or Linked In and, if you clicked the ad, we would learn if the ad campaign worked. Cookies also tell us which pages people visit and how long they stay and what actions they take next. It is pretty basic and not invasive because our website has an uncomplicated reason for being.

Who we share your data with

Approximately once per year we are asked by the charity called the Canadian Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA Canada) to check if anyone in our network would like to become members of their organization. After all, ICA Canada created ICA Associates Inc. and owns the intellectual property known as Technology of Participation (ToP Methods), so there is mutual interest and overlapping values. In that case we would reach out to our contacts via email and ask if we can share your name and email address with the charity. It would remain entirely your choice.
