Over the past 40 years Bill has specialized in leading participatory strategic planning for diverse groups, designing and facilitating major conferences, leading complex public consultations, curriculum development, and orchestrating whole-system community development initiatives.
Bill was inducted into the HALL OF FAME of the International Association of Facilitators in 2014 for his contributions to the field as publishing editor of the peer-reviewed Group Facilitation: A Research and Applications Journal, and translation of many facilitation books into several languages. He is the author of Transformational Strategy: Facilitation of ToP Participatory Planning, and is contributor to many others. Bill is the Trustee of ICA International and travels regularly to US, Ukraine, Russia, Korea, Japan and China.
Courses taught by Bill include demonstrations of best practices, lots of theory with practical examples, case studies that illuminate the use of tools and methods, and practice sessions that empower participants to immediately use new skills right after the course. He has designed and delivered hundreds of facilitation and facilitative leadership programs in-house for organizations across Canada and world-wide and has trained thousands of individuals at basic and advanced levels of skill.
