The Workshop Book: From Individual Creativity to Group Action outlines the best practices of the Consensus Workshop Method. The method is one of the core tools of the Institute of Cultural Affairs’ Technology of Participation (TOP™) body of knowledge. Thousands of people have learned to use the Consensus Workshop Method for: consensus formation, planning, problem solving, conflict resolution, and research. The method has been developed over 40 years by people associated with the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) and continues to be refined to this day by expert facilitators. It was first published in Laura Spencer’s out-of-print 1989 classic, Winning Through Participation.
