Human Development Empowerment leads to positive changes in how people see themselves and each other and can result in meaningful behaviour change. This course shows how to support individuals and groups though their own behavioural change. It also confronts ethical challenges faced by facilitative leaders. Learn why participatory group processes are essential to successful and meaningful transformation. ICA methods are based on decades of cross-cultural research into human patterns of perception and experience. Discover the underlying, foundational principles that enable creative, powerful usage and understanding of all ToP methods. In this course, you will explore human change and transformation in depth. The course includes the study of four chapers from "The Courage to Lead" which will help you see the deep roots of facilitation. It will help you make the shift from "doing the procedures" in facilitation to being able to work from a deeper, more intuitive understanding of participation and human change. It will help you make the shift from getting a result to dealing with the underlying challenges the groups faces and must come to terms with in order to make substantial progress. It will give you a deepened sense of confidence and a strengthened presense with a group.
The processes in this module are at the core of ICA’s Technology of Participation ToP. They are transferable to all disciplines and are essential for supporting change.
The course includes the book "The Courage to Lead" by Brian Stanfield. Prerequisite: Group Facilitation
