Community Driven Health Care
working together with an entire community

How can I make sure that our organization and the total community are in sync?

Health institutions are moving toward greater community participation and responsibility. But there are many explicit and hidden agendas at work in a community. ICA is firmly rooted in a long history of comprehensive community development for which it received consultative status to the United Nations in 1985.

This three-day course will show you how to help a community develop and take charge of its health care agenda and become a vital partner in meeting its own health needs.

Training Benefits

After taking this course you will be able to:

  • Engage a community or region in a large scale needs assessment
  • Build understanding of the complex systemic relationships within a community
  • Help the community determine its own strategic health agenda
  • Find allies within and outside the community
  • Develop long-term strategies that are powerful and self-sustaining
  • Unleash the motivation of a community through its history and self-story
  • Create supports that allow the community to maintain its health agenda
